Training (Education and Training):
- Oregon Non-Relative Resource (Foster) Parents must complete Foster Parent Orientation, Mandatory Reporter and Safe Sleep trainings before foster certificate is issued (or within 30 days of a temporary certificate being issued, if applicable). The full foster care training must be completed within 12 months of certification date. A total of 30 hours of training must be completed every two years in order to maintain on-going foster certification.
Oregon Relative Resource (Foster) Parents must complete Relative Orientation and Mandatory Reporter training and must complete Safe Sleep training if taking placement of a child age 12 months or younger.
