Special Needs
Nevada definition of "Special Needs":
In Nevada a Special Needs Child is generally defined as a child over the age of five years, a member of a sibling group,who needs to be placed together, and at least one of the children is age three years or older, has a diagnosed medical, physical, emotional, or mental disability or documented history of abuse/neglect requiring treatment intervention; or has documented factors in his/her background that places child at high risk for developing a condition requiring future treatment, oris considered difficult to place because of race. Additionally, children of any age who experience behavioral, developmental, physical or medical challenges, or disabilities are considered special needs.
