Oklahoma does not accept ICPC Adoption requests for direct adoptive placments of public custody children, with Oklahoma Human Services as the home study and supervision agency.

Oklahoma requires that public custody children first be placed via an approved ICPC relative or ICPC foster approval for a minimum of 90 days, prior to a request for an ICPC adoption request being accepted by OK ICPC for assessment by Oklahoma Human Services.

If a placing authority wishes to place a public custody child into a direct adoptive placement, the placing authority may contract with a private child placing agency for home study and post-placement supervison services.
